Just After Eight Hours

Things have been going pretty smoothly. John jumped in after Richard and had a great stint, moving the No.44 Magnus Racing Porsche GT3 Cup up to 14th position. In fact, his pass for 14th was the first thing we've had to celebrate all day - it was a small victory but a victory nonetheless. We're going fast and staying out of trouble, gaining positions as other cars begin to have trouble.

Right before the eight hour mark, there was a full course yellow, which worked out well with our fuel consumption so we brought John in and sent Craig back out. The pitstop went well, and Craig took off to make up some more time on the field.

5 1/2 hours in, things are pretty quiet

The Magnus Racing crew did a stellar job to change out our broken radiator (thanks GT car that knocked the cone in front of Jeroen) and since Richard got into the car, we have been running trouble-free laps. In fact, as of right now, Richard has the second-quickest laptime in GT.

We pitted under full course yellow for fuel and tires, and the plan is to next replace Richard with John Potter and send him out into the night.

If it weren't for bad luck...

Our string of bad luck in this race continues as Jeroen, who was flying, had to bring the No.44 Magnus Racing Porsche GT3 Cup behind the wall after hitting a cone and breaking a radiator. He was following another car that clipped a cone, which then bounced in front of our green Porsche.

The crew did a stellar job of repairing the damage in a hurry, and installed Richard Lietz in the car when we got back on track. We're pretty far down in the order - back to 23rd - but we're still driving hard to secure as many points possible for John and Craig in the 2010 GRAND-AM season.
